Jan 14 2021 Winding Along The Ocean Cliffs The Kortum Trail Is An Idyllic Coastal Hike In Northern California When you feel like being swept away by the oceans vast beauty a walk along the coastline is just what you need. The Kortum Trail connects Wrights Beach in the south to Blind Beach in the north which is about 46 miles round trip. From the trail we will have panoramic vistas of the lower Russian River Willow Creek the town of Jenner and the coastline.

A steep rough path descends the cliffs to the beach itself 200 feet below but for this hike walk 30 yards back down the road to the posted Kortum Trail on the right. Part of the 17-mile long Sonoma Coast State Park the well-maintained and relatively easy Kortum Trail offers sweeping views of the ocean and offshore sea stacks. The most popular staring point is at the Shell Beach located almost in the middle of the trail and here also the Kortum Trailhead is situated with a parking lot paved and restrooms.

The Hereford Trailhead provides access to the San Pedro Trail to the San Pedro House along Highway 90 to the north approximately 95 miles away and to Waters Road to the south approximately 35 miles.
